Colonoscopia no Câncer Colorretal

A obstrução intestinal como apresentação do CCR está associada a estágio avançado de tumores mais freqüentemente localizados no cólon esquerdo ou no reto. Enquanto representam tumores avançados o tratamento radical é eminentemente cirúrgico. A possibilidade de empregar técnicas alternativas assistidas pela colonoscopia objetiva o alívio da obstrução do cólon e eliminação do risco de perfuração em pacientes sem opção cirúrgica radical por motivo de estadiamento avançado (metástases à distância), recidiva inoperável ou más condições clínicas resultando em alta qualidade da paliação na medida em que o tratamento prescindiria de derivação intestinal.
